On 29 June 2015 a representative came into school to be presented with a cheque for £900.79 from our Air Ambulance Fundraising Day last term. Mr Canning expressed his thanks for the donation and outlined recent developments in the air ambulance service, especially the news that they now carry a doctor on board each flight. They have actually performed life-saving open heart surgery on the roadside! He also invited the pupils to visit the new Air Ambulance base that is currently being built near Llanelli. Everything will be housed on this site, including the South Wales helicopter, the control building, offices and a visitor centre, and they expect this to be ready in about 9 months’ time. We are very much looking forward to our visit in due course!
